Introducing Rubble, the feline superstar who holds the title of the “world’s oldest cat!” Hailing from Exeter, England, this British cat is a remarkable 30 years old and continues to live his life to the fullest. Rubble was adopted by his owner, Michele Foster, as a young kitten when she turned 20 in May 1988.
Isn’t he just amazing? Michele’s cat has been her faithful friend for many years and she describes him as an affectionate and devoted pet. According to Michele, her cat’s secret to living a long life is the abundance of love and care that he receives – just like a doted-on child.
The cat has been in good health, except for his high blood pressure which is being managed by Dr. Shawn Moore of City Vets. Despite his age, Rubble appears to be thriving and is likely the oldest cat in the UK. Dr. Moore affirmed that Rubble is doing well and is only taking medication for his blood pressure.
Michele was asked if she would consider registering Rubble in the Guinness World Records, to which she replied that her beloved feline still has a lot of life in him. However, she stated that they are not keen on pursuing the record as they believe Rubble would not appreciate too much attention or people fussing over him. Michele explained that Rubble is already old and prefers to live out his remaining days peacefully without any hassle. They would rather have him enjoy his old age in peace without any unnecessary disruptions.
Cream Puff, who held the title for the oldest cat in the Guinness Record, lived for 38 years and 3 days. The current record holder is Rubble, whose age is yet to be surpassed. Although we cannot predict how long Rubble will live, it is certain that his owner will pamper him until he passes away.
It’s quite impressive that the cat has managed to survive for so long. As a point of reference, most indoor cats live for around 15 to 20 years, while outdoor cats only tend to live between 2 and 9 years on average.
Let’s celebrate Rubble’s 30th birthday throughout the year and may he have countless days filled with joy and good health! Happy birthday, Rubble!
